Home Recording Now!

These days you do not have to be a pro or have a lot of money to build your own studio and get relatively good sound from your recordings. The best part is that you can start with something simple that you can add to later as your needs and budget grows.

Every home studio is (and should be) unique; what is right for you may not work for someone else. There is no "best" microphone, mixer, sound card, pre-amp, etc, etc, etc. It always depends on the application, budget and what sounds best to you. It is important to do your homework, you do not want to buy something that does not fit in with what you already have and you don't want to pay for features you are not going to use. Most important, your studio should not stand in the way of your creativity, it should boost your creativity and inspire you by making it easy to work and experiment.

This site is dedicated to the home studio owners, enthusiasts, music hobbyists and semi-pros. The intention of the information on HomeRecordingNow is to give ideas and inspiration for setting up a home studio for recording sound, music, etc and help you make more informed decisions about what gear to buy.

Of course gear isn't everything. At the end of the day it is the magic of the performance that makes the music.

When you click on any of the gear pictured on different pages of this site you will be directed to information about the product on the zZounds online store site (HomeRecordingNow is affiliated with GearLink and zZounds, see About for more information). In the zZounds site you can find a lot of information about the product you are interested in. On each product page on the left side you first have alternate pictures of the product, below that there is a longer textual description. On your right side you have the price of different configurations and below that there is a review section.
